Cycling has grown in popularity in downtown Toronto, but people still aren’t cycling as much as they could, according to a Ryerson report released in October. The report found that nearly a third of the trips GTHA residents make every day could be cycled in 15 minutes or less. But only one per cent of trips are currently cycled. The report says there is a lot of room for cycling growth among women, who make eight per cent more cyclable trips than men do, but make up just 30 per cent of the city’s cyclists.
