This podcast series strives to bring awareness to the current political situation in Afghanistan and how it affects education. This episode showcases a student’s life in Afghanistan being compared to an Afghan – Canadian student that grew up in western society. It highlights topics of difference in the environment, opportunities, and why this is an issue of conversation. I, Farkhounda Azizullah speak to three different people to emphasize the importance of this topic. First, Rukhshana Ahmadi, an Afghan student who recently came to Canada discusses the hardships she faced and her love for education. Second, Omrah Faqiryar, an Afghan – Canadian student who studied in Canada her whole life explains her educational journey alongside her Afghan identity. Finally, I invite Hadisa Gowhari, who was part of two women empowerment startups in Afghanistan to discuss the negative effects on Afghan women when losing education. I hope this episode is informative and brings awareness to your knowledge of the situation at hand.
