Episode 19 – RSJ Radio for November 20, 2018
This episode of RSJ Radio was produced by undergraduate students from the Ryerson School of Journalism as part of their undergraduate coursework.
Social media can connect us. It has the power to let us meet people on the other side of the world, stay in touch with family that lives far away, and share personal achievements all with the click of a button. On the other hand, social media also has the power to pull us into a whole new world that isn’t so great and hold us there.
The Social Story is a podcast about how the use of social media can negatively impact your mental health. We will hear personal stories and experiences from Ryerson students about how social media impacted their lives. And, we’ll also hear from Katrina Thompson, an occupational therapist with CAMH who has experience working with clients who suffer from various mental illnesses and how social media impacted them. Anastasia Andric and Talia Boettinger have the story.
