People’s Choice is one of seven awards available for participating students to win at the Level Up Showcase 2026 event. Players Choice is the only award with no input from judges and is solely based on votes by the public. (Ethan Corpuz)

Peyton Andino is into gaming on a surface level. Easily accessible, popular games are her niche. Classmate Ethan Corpuz cares a lot about video games, both the craft and the experience. They decide to follow Metropolitan Game Studio as they wrap up their journey to the annual Level Up! convention, where students just like them submit games and projects to be enjoyed by everyone.

What makes MGS dedicate all of their free time to this? Is it love, pride, dedication?

Through interviews with the leads on the team, Andino and Corpuz learn a lot about coding, dedication, and how community is like a diamond: formed best under pressure.
